01Information stored and processed in the app

Highlight is designed to keep your recordings and related content private.

When you use Highlight, the app may store and process content such as:

• Audio recordings
• Highlights
• Highlight names
• Generated recording titles
• Notes
• Transcripts
• Summaries
• Other recording-related metadata

This content is stored in connection with your recordings inside the app and on your device.

02On-device intelligence features

Highlight includes features such as transcription, summary, auto-named highlights, Auto-Named Recordings, search support for processed content, and transcript-based playback features.

When supported on your device, these features are created on device using Apple Intelligence related capabilities available through Apple’s platform.

We do not send your recordings to our servers to generate transcripts, summaries, auto-named highlights, or generated recording titles.

Some features require a compatible device that supports Apple Intelligence and related on-device capabilities.

Apple also provides its own Apple Intelligence and privacy disclosures, which govern Apple’s handling of Apple Intelligence features and related platform services on your device.

03How information is used

Highlight uses information stored in the app only to provide app functionality, such as:

• Recording and playback
• Marking and organizing highlights
• Creating transcripts, summaries, auto-named highlights, and generated recording titles on device when supported
• Letting you search recordings by title, notes, highlight names, and processed content
• Letting you follow along with a transcript during playback
• Allowing you to copy, export, or share recordings, audio files, and related content when you choose

We do not use your recordings or related content for advertising.

04Sharing and exporting initiated by you

Highlight lets you share recordings, export audio, and share related content when you choose.

If you share a recording, the shared file may include content attached to that recording, such as highlights, notes, transcripts, summaries, auto-named highlights, and generated recording titles.

If you export audio from a recording, the exported audio file may not include Highlight-specific content such as highlights, notes, transcripts, summaries, auto-named highlights, or generated recording titles.

Please review what you are sharing or exporting before sending it to others.

05What we collect

We do not collect personal information or recording content through our own servers as part of Highlight’s core recording and Highlight Intelligence features.

If you contact us directly, such as by email, we may receive the information you choose to provide in that message.

Your use of Apple’s App Store, iOS, Apple Intelligence, or other Apple services may also involve data practices governed by Apple’s own terms and privacy disclosures.

06Data retention and deletion

Your recordings and related content remain under your control on your device unless you choose to share or export them.

If you delete recordings or related content from the app, they are removed from Highlight, subject to how deletion and storage work on your device or in any storage location you choose to use.

07Third-party services

Highlight’s intelligence features are designed to work without sending your recordings to third-party AI services for processing.

However, if you choose to share, export, sync, or store files through Apple or other services available on your device, those services may handle your data under their own privacy terms.

08Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new Privacy Policy on this page and update the “Last Updated” date.
